Gallipoli ballot meaningless without consultants’ report

The Gillard Labor Government must release the consultants’ report used to justify the 10,500 person capacity of the Gallipoli Dawn Service commemorative site if the proposed ballot arrangements announced today are to have credibility in the community.

Shadow Minister visits Ringwood RSL for Anzac Day Dawn Service

The Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, joined Deakin Liberal candidate, Michael Sukkar, at the Ringwood RSL Dawn Service this Anzac Day to pay tribute to local veterans who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
Senator Ronaldson, attending the Dawn Service at the Ringwood RSL for the first time, said he was deeply moved to see so many local residents in attendance at the solemn ceremony.
98 years on, the spirit of Anzac grows stronger

Australians at home and abroad will pause tomorrow to reflect and remember the 98th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing and almost a century of service and sacrifice by the men and women of the Australian Defence Force.
Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, said Anzac Day 2013 was an opportunity for all Australians to show their thanks and appreciation for those who have defended our nation, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Australian War Memorial honours our fallen

The Australian War Memorial will today begin a new tradition to honour Australia’s 102,000 war dead during the daily closing ceremony.
Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, will attend this evening’s solemn closing ceremony which will pay tribute to a fallen serviceperson whose name appear on the Roll of Honour.
Details needed on Labor’s proposed Anzac Centenary Fund

Labor’s minister responsible for the Centenary of Anzac needs to come clean about the proposed ‘Anzac Centenary Fund’ which he claims will fund a multi-million dollar redevelopment of Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance.

Michael Ronaldson, said Labor has committed money to a project from a fund which, as of 10 days ago when the Coalition was briefed on the Report of the Anzac Centenary Advisory Board, had not yet been formally established and which held no funds.
